George Enescu, composer, violinist and teacher of Yehudi Menuhin, is Romania’s great musical hero, and his museum fills the Cantacuzino Palace on Calea Victoriei, a Beaux-Arts palace with a famous shell-shaped glass canopy over its entrance. Inside are his manuscripts, instruments and memories, and the house where he lived with his wife stands in the garden behind. Look out for recitals.
