Cișmigiu, laid out in the middle of the 19th century, is the oldest and most romantic park in Bucharest: winding paths, old trees, a lake with rowing boats in summer and skating in winter, and a corner where old men play chess. It is a short walk from the Old Town and Calea Victoriei.
