The Patriarchal Cathedral of Saints Constantine and Helena was built in the 1650s on a small hill above the city, and it is the heart of the Romanian Orthodox Church. Walk up the steps for the cathedral, its bell tower and the Patriarchal Palace, and for a quiet view over the rooftops. It is busy with pilgrims during the feast of Saint Demetrius in October.
