For years Primăverii Palace was hidden from view, the private home of Nicolae and Elena Ceaușescu in the exclusive Primăverii district. Today you can tour its rooms of silk, marble and gold, the private cinema and the swimming pool lined with mosaic, a fascinating glimpse into the life of the couple who ruled Romania until 1989. Visits are by guided tour; book ahead.
